Once upon a time, in a faraway green land lived a little boy called Mehdi. Mehdi’s Pa and Ma were not the only ones who lived with him. There was the little magic ball that lived right under the bed where Mehdi’s mom used to put him to sleep.
For about five years, Mehdi and the ball never met. The ball waited for the day it would meet Mehdi. It was the happiest day when they finally met. Mehdi was not alone when they met. He had the magic bat his new friend had presented him on his 5th birthday. “Happy Birthday!” “Happy Birthday!” the magic ball shouted out. Mehdi looked up and down his shirt and pants and Mr Pillow and Mrs Bed Sheet to find the source of the sound, but could not locate it. At last, little Mehdi got tired and sat on the floor with his two hands covering his face.
Then, once again came the same “Happy Birthday” sound and Mehdi looked under his bed when suddenly, the magic ball jumped and landed on Mehdi’s lap. “You are so round. Your legs, hands and face, they are all round. I like you,” said Mehdi in excitement to the magic ball.
From that day onwards, wherever Mehdi went, his magic ball, which was as white as snow, went with him in his hand. On the first day, when Mehdi, the bat and the magic ball went out, they walked and kicked sand in the air with their feet. “Let’s stop and play”, cried out the ball and bat to Mehdi after some time. “OK! Let us stop on that field where Mr and Mrs Cow are walking,” replied Mehdi.
As they began playing, Mehdi discovered something very funny in his magic ball friend _ that is as soon as the ball reached the ground, it bounced off. The bat followed and stood right in front of the ball to stop it. But the magic ball was clever, it bounced and jumped over the bat. “You come back here, magic ball, then I will catch you,” cried out Mehdi and the bat. The magic ball came back and Mehdi put it on his palm. But the ball pulled Mehdi’s left hand forward and back till it managed to fall off. This time, the magic ball went and hid and Mehdi had to run with the bat to look for it.
After a lot of running, Mehdi became strong and gained lots of power. With the power, he found and held tight the magic ball. “I was just showing you some tricks,” the magic ball said. “OK, but now I am going to walk on my hands and count till I come close to the bat over there”.
Mehdi pointed and showed with his little fingers a place in front of him. And when next the magic ball went from Mehdi’s hand, the bat was ready. It stood sideways and picked up magic ball in the air and threw it back to Mehdi. Every day from then on, Mehdi, the bat and magic ball played in the field.
Mr and Mrs Cow watched first, then came all the village boys of the green land. From there, Mehdi, the bat and the magic ball went on to play in bigger fields. Only this time the magic ball played to win against boys who wanted Mehdi to cry, but Mehdi never cried. He did not cry because all the three friends, along with a new pal, went together. Mehdi, the magic ball, the magic bat and speed, their new friend.
That’s not all, now Mehdi plays a new game with his friends. He spins magic ball in a circle with his hand. Then Mehdi drops magic ball from his fingers. And the ball rushes off to meet the bat. And all the games the friends play, they have a lot of fun and get prizes. They play every day.
