Prachyanat School of Acting and Design is bringing a well-known play of Delim Al Deen, titled ‘Muntasir Fantasy’ on stage today at the Studio theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, as a part of a five-day theatre festival in memory of two legendary playwrights Munier Chowdhury and Natyacharya Selim Al Deen. Directed by Kazi Taufiqul Islam, the story of the comedy ‘Muntasir Fantasy’ revolves around a political leader named Muntasir, who faces the strange suffering of an uncontrollable hunger to eat whatever he sees and hears.
The inauguration ceremony of the theatre festival took place on Sunday evening at the premises of the Studio Theatre Hall of BSA. Presided over by BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, veteran thespians Lucky Enam, Sara Zaker, Shimul Yousuf and Rokeya Rafik Baby were present at the inaugural ceremony. Md Badrul Anam Bhuiyan delivered the welcome speech at the event. The festival began with Munier Choudhury’s much-acclaimed play ‘Kobor’ (The Burial). Directed by Anan Zaman, Department of Drama and Dramatics from Jahangirnagar University staged the play. All the plays of the festival have been scheduled to be staged every day at 7 pm at the Studio Theatre Hall of BSA.
