Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu said the present government has been successful in tackling terrorism. "The razakars (collaborators of Pakistan army in 1971) and militants could not be saved through arson attacks or any sort of terrorist activities," he said while talking to journalists prior to conference of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) at the local district council auditorium yesterday.
Referring to the recent attacks in Nasirnagar and Gobindaganj, the
minister said the identified terrorist clique has launched the attacks at the directive of high-ups to malign the image of the government.
The terrorists are not only attacking the Hindus but also on Islamic personalities like imams of mosques, he added. Inu, also Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President, said the government want make the country razakar-free by holding trials of war criminals. He alleged that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is patronizing arsonists in the country to protect the followers of Pakistan.
As a sequel to this, the arsonists have launched attacks in Nasirnagar and Gobindaganj, he said, adding that
the BNP wants to foil the next national polls of 2019 through this type of terrorist activities. Later, Hasanul Huq Inu addressed the JSD workers meeting as the chief guest.
Presided over by district Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal vice-president Talukder Humayun Kabir, the meeting was also addressed by, among others, central executive committee president advocate Rabiul Islam, vice-president Shahidul Islam, joint secretary Obaidur Rahman
Chunnu, organising secretary Khalid Hossain and district committee secretary Syed Ariful Islam.
Later, Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu inaugurated a two-day long fair at Tarapur village in the district in the
afternoon.
