A dance drama called Peacock of Winter, starring renowned Chinese dancer Yang Liping, begins its national tour November 16.

The peacock has become Yang Liping’s trademark on stage. From Peacock Princess, to Spirit of the Peacock to Love of Peacock, Yang vividly depicts the glamour and charm of these beautiful birds across her various works, all while employing her unique dance language.

Since its debut in 2012, Yang’s Peacock has been staged at home and abroad hundreds of times. Based on this masterpiece, Yang has come up with a new and upgraded version. The new work, which brings together Yang’s 40-year artistic arc, tells a story of life and death, and reflects on the notion of Nirvana.
