Police yesterday sent to jail the two suspects who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing of a man and his three sons at Bashati village in Nandail upazila on Friday night.
Ali Akbar, 55, a retired bank officer, and Harun-or-Rashid, 38, of Bashati village, were arrested early on Sunday. They were produced before a court in Mymensingh yesterday afternoon; and the court sent them to jail.
Earlier, the court recorded the statement of Harun-or-Rashid under section 164, said Murad Ali Sheikh, sub-inspector of Nandail police station, also the investigation officer of the case.
On Friday night, a man and three of his sons were stabbed to death by his elder brother Lal Mia and his hired goons over the ownership of a piece of land at Bashati village.
But the prime accused of the case Lal Mia and his son Kamal Hossain are yet to be arrested, said the IO.
Drives are on to arrest the killers The victims are Billal Hossain, 58, and his three sons Farid, 28, and Himel, 16, and Pavel, 18.
