Today’s JDC, JSC exams rescheduled in Barisal

The government has rescheduled today’s examinations of Junior School Certificate (JSC) under Barisal Board and its equivalent Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) under Madarsah Board due to inclement weather triggered by a depression over the Bay, UNB reports. The JSC test for November 6 -- English second paper under Barisal Board -- was moved to November 12 while the same day’s JDC test -- English first paper -- rescheduled for November 19, said Mahbubur Rahman, chairman of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.
However, the examinations of the rest of the boards will be held as per the current schedule on Sunday, Rahman added. The country’s different areas, including capital Dhaka, have been experiencing intermittent rains for over the law two days under the influence of the depression over the northwest Bay.
The low-lying areas of Barguna, Bhola, Patuakhali, Barisal, Pirozpur and Jhalakati of Barisal division are likely to be inundated by tidal surge of 2-3 feet under its influence.
The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist distant cautionary signal No. 4 as the depression over west-central bay and adjoining area moved east-northeastwards and intensified into deep depression over northwest bay and adjoining area.
