When she was a child, Mousumi Barua dreamed of becoming an actress. She even got the opportunity to go abroad with a troupe to perform a play in Germany with People’s Little Theatre. Her talent was not just limited to acting. In 1998, she participated in a national level competition for Rabindra Sangeet and won the gold medal. It seems that she was on a path, but then, as luck would have it, she turned out to be a presenter. And that too, a very popular and successful one as for the last 17 years, she has been a presenter for Channel i and for 14 years she has also been a producer. She can be regularly seen as a presenter for ‘Gaane Gaane Sokal Suru’, ‘Taroka Kathon’, ‘Gaaner Utsab’. The show ‘Boithoki Adda’ is not only presented by her, but she is also behind its direction.
Mousumi Barua said, “I always feel satisfied whenever I am presenting shows. Even though it has been many years, sometimes it still seems difficult. When legendary personalities appear in the show, I feel a little nervous about making any mistake. But thankfully because of my confidence, I have been doing well as a presenter for the past 17 years. For today’s position, I would like to thank the Channel i family, Faridur Reza Sagor, Shyk Siraj and I am eternally grateful to them.”
Today is also Mousumi Barua’s birthday. On her special day, she will be spending time with her own family as well as the Channel i family. Mousumi also works with the physically disabled and handicapped people, orphans and old people from old homes. She informed that she will also give them her time on her birthday. l
