The ruling Awami League (AL) has called the first meeting of its newly elected presidium members today (Friday) at party president Sheikh Hasina’s official residence, Gonobhaban.  The meeting will be held around 7pm, with Sheikh Hasina in the chair, said a party press release signed by AL office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap yesterday.  The new AL general secretary, Obaidul Quader, called upon all presidium members to attend the meeting on time, the media release added.  Party sources said Hasina would finalise the names of the party’s 28 executive members in consultation with the presidium members.  Earlier, the AL had announced the names of 53 members, including 19 presidium members and 34 secretaries, for its executive body at its 20th triennial national council session on October 22-23.
