Aerospace achievements benefiting China and the world

The things that China aerospace workers are working on today are leading to breaking-throughs in the field of aerospace science and technology. Over the past few years, we have witnessed China’s aerospace industry develop rapidly. Since the beginning of this century, China made its first manned space flight, launched its first target aircraft Tiangong I, completed its first applied space flight and sent the country’s first lunar rover Jade Rabbit, onto the surface of the moon. Last month, China successfully launched a space laboratory called Tiangong II, taking another big step towards the first ever Chinese space station.

All that China has done is part of the larger human exploration of space. Standing at the forefront of this exploration, we consider it our inescapable mission to deepen human understanding of the universe. Science is without borders. Shenzhou-11 has launched for China, as well as the rest of the world. (The author is an editor of People’s Daily Overseas Edition)

For many decades, we have benefited from the pioneers of science and technology. It is the great efforts of many countries that have promoted the unceasing progress of science and technology.

In addition to its aerospace achievements, China has constructed the world’s largest single-dish radio telescope, set up the world’s largest genome library, launched the world’s first quantum satellite, and built the world’s fastest supercomputer. Our mission is for China and all mankind as well.
