The weeklong discussion and cultural programme titled ‘Smriti, Swatta, Bhabissat’ will end today by remembering noted cultural figures Komol Das Gupta and Feroza Begum at the auditorium of Music, Dance and Recitation Department, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital.
In the discussion part, various aspects of Feroza Begum and Komol Das’ career will be focused upon by Nazrul researcher Professor Rafiqul Islam and poet Asad Chowdhury. Veteran artist Mustafa Monwar will preside over today’s discussion.
In the cultural segment, Iffat Ara Dewan, Sandipan, Anupoma Mukti, Sharmin Sathi Islam, Priyanka Biswas, ‘Khhude Gaan Raj’ singer Sajeeb, Channel i Sera Kantha singer Mehedi Hasan will take part in the solo music while the artistes of BSA will perform group dances.
Yesterday, as a part of the event, Ustad Allauddin Khan, Ustad Ayet Ali Khan, Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan were remembered, where Mobarak Hossain Khan was present as main discussant.
Earlier on October 18, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, Waheedul Haque, Kalim Sharafi, Ajit Ray and Shahidullah Kaiser were remembered, where Human rights activist Sultana Kamal, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra singer Tapan Mahmud and noted actress Shomi Kaiser were present as discussants. Presided over by professor A K M Nurul Anwar, former Governor of Bangladesh Bank Atiur Rahman was present as chief guest at the event.
To note, in memory of noted deceased cultural figures of the country, BSA has organised the weeklong event under the supervision of academy’s Music, Dance and Recitation Department. Beginning from October 13, the event is ending today.
