The WPPB (Wedding and Portrait Photographers of Bangladesh) ‘International Conference Competition and Expo 2016’ (ICCE16) will begin today on the premises of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in the capital’s Farmgate area.
WPPB ICCE16 is the major event for commercial photographers in Bangladesh. With Paper World as the title sponsors, the event will include a photography exhibition of 200 photographs, carefully selected from 6000 submissions by 567 photographers. Cultural Affairs Minister  Asaduzzaman Noor will be present at the event as the chief guest. Besides, also present at the event will be master photographers from all across the world such as David Beckstead, Patrick Low, Jeff Voon, Anoop Padalkar, and Yansen Setiawan.
To further speak on the event which begins from today, a press conference to share the details was held yesterday at the premises of Biswa Sahitya Kendra in the capital’s Bangla Motor area. David Beckstead, one of the master photographers, was present during the press conference to answer some questions and share his thoughts.
David Beckstead is considered as one of the best wedding photographers in the world. David expressed his enthusiasm to be in Bangladesh and be part of the event. He mentioned that he always looks forward to anything related to wedding photography and shared some of his valuable insights. He said, “During the master class, when I teach enthusiastic photographers and guide them, I always focus on imposing, lining and composition. I always advise them to look beyond, capture an image which comes from the heart.”
“Every single photograph tells a story. That is why I always pay attention to lines. Lines guide you through the story”, he continued.
When asked what advice he would give to aspiring photographers, he said, “When I first started my career, I used to get a lot of valuable advice. But often I used to hear someone say that I should do it like this and do it like that and so on. Then I used to think that is not how I want to do it. I preferred my own style. That is why the advice that I would give is that one should find their own niche and own style. Never let others get you down and you should definitely separate yourself from the rest so that you stand out and so does your work.”
Prito Reza, the founder of WPPB said, “The main initiative of WPPB is to create a platform for photographers, so that it can be reached at a global stage and also to help aspiring photographers properly pursue their talent. This WPPB International Conference Competition and Expo 2016 will definitely be a grand event, with the presence of David Beckstead and so many other master photographers in this field from so many corners of the globe. WPPB wants to stand beside photographers who want to pursue this and that is why, we are there to help. Rather than growing individually, it is a lot more pleasurable to grow together. We want to move from ‘Ami’ to ‘Amra’.
This WPPB International Conference Competition and Expo 2016 will continue October 22.
