State of emergency declared in Tunisia
AFP, TUNIS: Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi on Saturday declared a state of emergency following last week's jihadist beach massacre in which 38 foreign tourists were killed, his office said.
The president has declared a state of emergency in Tunisia and will address the nation at 5 pm (1600 GMT), Essebsi's office said. An earlier state of emergency, granting special powers to the police and army, was lifted in March 2014, having been in force since longtime president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was ousted in a 2011 revolution.
14 missing in China factory collapse
BBC,Zhejiang: A shoe factory has collapsed in eastern China, trapping many people, according to Chinese state media.
At least 51 people were working in the factory in the city of Wenling, in Zhejiang province, when it collapsed at around 16:00 local time (08:00 GMT).
By late evening, 37 people had been rescued and 14 remained missing, CCTV News said. The China Daily newspaper said a large pool built on the factory's roof was believed to be the cause. The China News website said several hundred firefighters were involved in the rescue.
Saudi air strike kills 23 in  Yemen
AFP, SANAA: A Saudi-led air strike on a Huthi Shiite rebel stronghold in Yemen's northern mountains killed 23 people early yesterday, tribal sources said.
The strike targeted a munitions factory in Saqayn, near Saada, the sources said. Coalition aircraft also bombed the rebel-held capital Sanaa, targeting an arms warehouse and the air defence headquarters, witnesses said.
2 held in Pakistan for beating Christians
AP/UNB, Islamabad: Police in Pakistan say officers have
arrested two Muslim clerics for inciting a mob to attack a Christian couple on blasphemy charges.
Local police officer Farooq Ahmed said yesterday that the couple was beaten up and paraded around Makki, a village in Punjab province, on June 29. Ahmed said the intervention of police probably saved the couple's lives.
