China minister seeks media campaign for greater connectivity

Visiting Chinese vice minister for publicity Tuo Zhan yesterday sought increased media campaign for enhanced regional connectivity coinciding with their President Xi Jinping's Dhaka visit later this week, reports BSS.
"The media in our two countries are now very professional . . . we expect them to carry out an enhanced campaign for enhanced connectivity particularly for reestablishing the India- Bangladesh- Myanmar-China Corridor," he told a media dialogue at a hotel in the city.
Zhan expected the upcoming Chinese president's visit to be "meaningful" in promoting the "old and traditional" ties between the two countries by taking bilateral relations to a new height.
Prime Minister's media affairs adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad, Financial Express Editor AHM Moazzem Hossain, state-run BTV's director general Harunur Rashid, BDnews24.com's chief editor Toufiq Imroz Khaledi and chief executives of different private and state-run electronic media took part in the dialogue.
