Juba League man shot dead in Jessore

A Juba League man was shot dead by criminals at Khitibdia in Sadar upazila early yesterday.The deceased was identified as Ejaj Hossain, 42, an inhabitant of Jhaudia village in Jessore Sadar upazila.
Elias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said a gang of unidentified criminals opened fire at him and fled the scene. He was rushed to Jessore General Hospital where on- duty doctor declared him dead.
Ejaj was killed over previous enmity, the OC said. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.Ejaj’s brother Badal Hossain said, “My brother Shahidul was also killed by the same assailants about one and a half year ago.” A gang of assailants namely Sabuj, Judo, Kamal and Kabir led by Mosto Member shot his brother to death after intercepting Ejaj’s motorbike at Khitibdia at around 8am while he was going to Churamankathi Market, said Badal. Ejaj was gunned down following feud over sharing of a water body, said he.
