Quite a few restaurants have opened up in Dhaka with the motto to present us with beef dishes from all over the country. These restaurants feature our local beef related items and dishes and people are really appreciating the fine cooking of beef items. A few days ago, during my visit at Mezban Bari I encountered a dish I wanted to taste for a long time, Chanar Dal. It’s basically, chickpeas cooked with beef. But the real essence lies in the ‘lethal’ combination of chickpeas and beef that brings out a raw and mouthwatering flavor topped to perfection by the touch of various spices and herbs. However, the Chanar Dal at Mezban Bari was really impressive. The dish was oily and very spicy as it should be. The Dal was fresh and well cooked as it melted in my mouth. The beef was cooked perfectly. It was tender and juicy. This dish and its similar variants are very popular in parts of our country particularly, in the rural areas.  
Mezban Bari’s interior décor is simple, smart and creates a soothing atmosphere. It’s a great place for family meals and hangouts.
