RAJSHAHI: All the government, semi-government and private offices, including banks and financial institutions, reopened with a very low attendance of staff yesterday after the weeklong Eid vacation, reports BSS. Attendance of the staff at the City Bhaban and offices of divisional commissioner and deputy commissioner, Rail Bhaban, Water Development Board, Sericulture Building, RDA Bhaban, Barendra Bhaban, RMP Headquarters and Roads and Highway Building was also very thin as more than half of the officers and employees are yet to return.
Sources concerned said the offices and courts will assume their usual look from Sunday, after the weekend. However, some people were seen rushing to their respective offices to dispose of their pending urgent works on the opening day today. Meanwhile, festive mood is prevailing at most of the offices. Officials and staff were seen exchanging Eid greetings and embracing their colleagues. The holiday-seekers, who went to their villages to celebrate the Eid with their relatives, have slowly started to return to their working places. City streets still remain free from the usual chaotic snarl-up.
