CHITTAGONG: Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has taken various steps for quick disposal of sacrificial animal waste and garbage so that it would not create any harm to the environment, reports BSS. As part of the preparation, the CCC authorities divided 41 wards of the city into four zones- North and South, east and west further split the zones into 20 units. Meanwhile, four control rooms were opened for supervising the animal waste operations. CCC source said the operation of sacrificial animal waste will start at 9 am on September 13 and will be completed before 6 pm on the days of Eid-ul-Azha.
Over 2500 labourers and 208 trucks will be engaged to carry out the disposal work on the days of Eid-ul-Azha. According to a CCC , apart from the collecting the waste and garbage of the sacrificial animals , bleaching powders will be sprayed at dustbins, drains , spot of slaughtering and waste dumping places and bloods at big roads to be washed by water to protect the environment from bad smells.
