Khulna Masters face All Stars in final

Gemcon Group Khulna Masters take on Lanka-Bangla All Stars in the final of the first ever Masters Cricket Carnival (MCC) after both of the side won their respective matches quite comfortably in the semifinal yesterday at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket stadium, Cox’s Bazar.
With the semifinal matches, the curtain of the MCC Cox’s Bazar part was fallen. The final of the tournament will be held on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
TA Timir’s five for 24, the first five-wicket haul in the tournament went in vain as Khulna sealed a 15-run win over Confidence Group Dhaka Metro. On the other hand, Javed Omar Belim  Gullu hit 42 runs to help All Stars overcome JB Group Dhaka Division by six wickets.
Khulna amassed 106 for seven in 15 overs after opting to bat first. Habibul Bashar Sumon helped the side get off to a decent start and eventually was the highest scorer with 32 runs. His opening partner Jamal Babu made 18 while Liton scored 17.
Dhaka Metro were restricted to 91 for nine in 15 overs after facing some disciplined bowling from Khulna. Niamur Rashid Rahul scored highest 36. Sajidul Ahmed Shipon contributed 12. Totam took three for 21.s
Dhaka Division piled up 97 for seven in the other semifinal game with Mehrab Hossan Opee scoring 29 runs. Shanto and Nahid claimed two wickets apiece. The total was overhauled by All Stars in 14.3 overs as they scored 98 for four. Javed Omar Belim Gullu led the charge with 27 ball-42, studded with two fours and as many sixes.
