Comilla: A Juba League man was shot dead in an attack by his rivals at Patodda Bazar in Chouddagram upazila on Friday, reports UNB.The deceased was identified as Rana, 35, son of Shahid Ullah of Gunishakra village in the upazila.OC of Chouddagram Police Station Abul Faisal said there had long been a dispute between Batisa union parishad chairman Zahidul Islam Tipu and his rival Golam Mostafa Biplab. Following the enmity, Biplab Group men launched an attack on the followers of Tipu while they were gossiping in the bazaar around 9 pm.The attackers opened fire at them and later hacked them with machetes indiscriminately, leaving Rana and Basir of Tipu Group injured seriously. They were taken to Chouddagram Health Complex where doctors declared Rana dead.
