Popular Bollywood playback singer Neha Kakkar will be visiting Bangladesh for the very first time to enthrall the music lovers of the country. Organised by eMakers Bangladesh, the Indian singer will perform in a concert titled ‘Neha Kakkar Live in Dhaka- Powered by Rifat Trading’, which will be held on September 30 in the capital’s Bashundhara International Convention Centre. To provide further details about the upcoming concert, a press conference was arranged yesterday at a restaurant in the city’s Banani area.
Attending the press conference, eMakers Bangladesh managing director Nayeem Ashraf said, “Neha Kakkar is scheduled to land in Dhaka on September 29. In addition to Neha Kakkar, a popular Bangladeshi folk artiste will also perform at the concert. For now, we want to keep that name for a surprise. Also, some new artistes will be performing as well. Overall, this will be a grand platform and we want to present a memorable event to the audience.”
He further added, “A portion of the proceedings from the concert will be given for the treatment for the ailing singer Lucky Akhand.”
Regarding the security, Nayeem Ashraf said, “Security is always greatly emphasized upon during such events. The nation is still shaken by some of the incidents that have taken place recently. Therefore, we are more alert and cautious. Since we have taken approval from the government and that is why the there will be proper security. We will also have our own security and Bashundhara will also provide it. Overall, security for the concert will be tight.”
Neha Kakkar did a playback for a Bangladeshi film ‘Agnee 2’, where audience-admired actress Mahiya Mahi played a lead role. The film was jointly produced by Bangladesh and India. Some of her notable songs are ‘Aaj Blue Hain Pani Pani’, ‘Secondhand Jawani’, ‘Aow Raja’, Tuh Ishk Mera’, ‘Doh Peg Mar’, ‘Tukur Tukur’, among others.
