Rajshahi University (RU) authorities have expelled a female student for bringing a false allegation of sexual harassment against a teacher, UNB reports. The action was taken against Shapla Sultata Shafia, a 2nd year student of the Urdu Department, at the 467th syndicate meeting held on Sunday night with RU Vice-chancellor Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin in  the chair, said Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan. On December 20, 2015, Shapla, also an activist of RU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, brought the allegation against the teacher of Islamic History & Culture Department, the Pro-VC said.  Following her allegation, university administration formed a three-member probe body on December 26. However, the probe body found the allegation to be false and submitted their report to the university administration in this regard.
