BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, in an immediate reaction to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s briefing on Rampal power plant, termed her allegations against Khaleda Zia baseless. Asked about the premier’s allegation of conspiracy against BNP chief Khaleda Zia, he said ‘it’s completely baseless’. He asserted that his party was always against the Rampal power plant. Answering to another question, Roy said the party would not go for any movement before the upcoming Eid Ul Azha. Earlier in the day, the prime minister blasted BNP chairperson for joining the propaganda against the power plant. Sheikh Hasina said that BNP chairperson's joining with the propaganda on August 24 through a media briefing seemed to have a deep conspiracy. "Khaleda Zia was giving instigation from inside. With the press conference on August 24 she also joined that propaganda,” Sheikh Hasina said. “Otherwise why she (Khaleda) has come up in public with her negative attitude after a long time of beginning of the construction work of the power plant?” the prime minister inquired.
