The Shilin Snow and Ocean Amusement Park began operations the other day. For the first time people can have some maritime fun in the landlocked province of Yunnan.

The whole complex consists of five zones, including Ocean World, Indoor Ski Field, Dream Snow Park, Family Theme Hotel and Mountain-top Amusement Park. On opening day, Ocean World, Dolphin Hall and Polar Hall received nearly 10,000 tourists. Ocean World includes a primitive sea, a tropical rainforest, a deep-sea palace, a coral kingdom, a jellyfish fairyland and an undersea tunnel. Swimming in the 30,000-square-meter aquarium are more than 20,000 varieties of fish of various sizes from oceans around the world. In Polar Hall, there are four beluga whales, three Magellanic penguins, arctic wolves and foxes, and visitors can also have a closer look at seals swimming and playing. In Dolphin Hall, two dolphins and two sea lions entertain visitors with fantastic performances.
