BAU celebrates 56th founding anniversary
MYMENSINGH: Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) chalked out an elaborate programme on the campus yesterday to celebrate it’s 56th founding anniversary.  including joyous rally, tree plantation, fish fry release. The daylong programme started at 7am by hoisting the national and university flags on the campus. Thereafter, a procession, led by the acting vice-chancellor Prof MdJosimuddin Khan, was brought out that marched all important roads on the campus. Special prayers also offered in different mosques of different resident halls and resident areas of the university. BAU, one of the ranked agricultural universities of South-Asia, started its journey on August 18, 1961. Since its establishment, the university has been producing quality graduates who have been showing their brilliants in national and international level in all sectors specially in the agricultural sector.   


JUSC celebrates its 11th anniversary
The science based social organisation Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC) celebrated its’ 11th anniversary on Wednesday with festivity. Ex-president of JUSC Rashedul Islam Raj inaugurated 11th year anniversary programme by cutting cake at Teachers and Student Centre (TSC) on the campusAt about 5.30 pm. Rashedul said JUSC is going forward with its innovative science based events. It will be able to contribute to build a science based society in future, he expected. Conducted by JUSC secretary Sahriar Kobir Shohag, vice president Abu Raihan, Elma Akhnd Tusti, organizational secretary Sabus Sharkar Shouvo, office secretary Plabon Tarique, IT secretary Oaliullah were present among others. Mentionable, JUSC started its journey on the campus on August 17, 2005 and now is working to create interest for science by different types of innovative programme among school, college and university level students.
