Pathshala South Asian Media Institute will celebrate ‘World Photography Day’ today. The day is all about celebrating photography, whether people see themselves as an amateur, hobbyist or professional.
On the occasion, Pathshala will be featuring a portfolio review session (11am to 1pm) for the amateur photography students and presentation (5pm to 7pm) by the six female Pathshala Alumni who will be showcasing their personal body of work.
Besides, an exhibition titled ‘19’ will conclude today that began on August 12. ‘19’ is a group show by six students of Pathshala who are graduating from the Professional Photography Programme, the class of 2016. These works collectively deal with the idea of Family, Home, Alienation, Anxiety an’d Re-experience. To create these bodies of works, the participants were open to use photographs, moving images, sounds and archive materials.
This exhibition is a result of six-month research and works conducted and curated by Sarker Protick. The participants are M Hasan Tareque,Nayeem Tushar,Taufiqur Rahman Anik,Nasirul Islam,Minhaz Marzu and Tushar Shahidur Rahman .
