Benapole customs officials seized 50,000 US dollars from a passenger bag yesterday afternoon. Joint Commissioner Mustafizur Rahman of Benapole Custom House said acting on secret information that a passenger from India is entering Bangladesh with foreign currencies, customs officials searched the bag of the passenger in the customs hall and found 50,000 US dollars kept in the bag. However, the passenger who carried the bag fled, the official said. A case was filed.
