9 female Jamaat activists held
in Jhenidah

 Police arrested nine female activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Jhenidah unit, from Bapari Para in Jhenidah town yesterday while they were distributing Jihadi books and leaflets at a secret meeting.
Additional Police Superintendent Azbahar Ali said they arrested them on getting information from the locals. Few numbers of leaflets and various Jihadi books were also seized from their possession.
They were sent to jail after interrogation.
The arrestees are Sumia Khatun, 40, of Ukil para, Fatema Khatun, 26, of Pagla-Kanai para, Jobaida Begum, 45, Shefali Begum, 27, of Bapari para, Sharmin Kahatun, 38, Kabita Khatun, 32, Joly Khatun, 27, Rokya Khatun, 38, of the same area of Jhenidah town and Johura Banu, 52, of Barandi para under Jessore district.
