‘Luckiest Girl Alive’ by Jessica Knoll is a novel containing copious amounts of suspense and thrill, targeted towards a younger audience.
The story develops around TifAni FaNeli ‘Ani’, the successful editor of a prominent magazine. She is to be married to Luke Harrison, a very suave and wealthy young businessman. In short, her life appears to be perfect in the eyes of the reader. But soon enough, the reader gets engulfed in the dark secrets of Ani and is tossed back and forth in to her horrendous flashbacks during high school and her picturesque present.
The reader is left wondering whether Ani will let go of her memories or will she jeopardise her bright future. However, just when the reader seems to think, “It can’t possibly get worse”, Knoll surprises everyone with a twist. The vivid description of these unfortunate incidents will make the reader feel helpless. The storyline is enhanced by private confessions of Ani that is only between the reader and her.
Knoll, most certainly, has shown immeasurable amount of potential and technique in keeping the reader hovering over the ending throughout the book. This book is recommendable for everyone, but fans of Gillian Flynn will enjoy it the most. The book has staggering similarities with Flynn’s work in terms of drama and suspense but contains an intensity all of its own.
The book is published by Simon & Schuster and it can be downloaded from the internet.
