‘Amar Ekdike Prithibi, Ekdike Bhalobasa, Ami Tomar Kache Asbo, Ar Tomakey Bhalobasbo’—the lyrics of the song are from the 1993 movie ‘Atto Ohankar’ directed by Raihan Mujib, where evergreen Omar Sani sang the song, honouring his love towards actress Mousumi in the film. Then two years later, on August 2, 1995, Omar Sani and Mousumi tied the knot. Now it has been 21 years since that special day. With son Fardin and daughter Faiza, and the couple continues to live the happy life.
Today is their 21st wedding anniversary, and even though they do not have any elaborate plans, the couple will celebrate the day in their own way. About the special day and 21 years together with Mousumi, Omar Sani said, “Mousumi is the light of my life, and she is my everything. Even though in many points of my life I have been confused and uncertain about many decisions, Mousumi has always taken solid, logical decisions that have always impressed me and my admiration for her grew. She is not only a successful actress, but a great wife, mother and a wonderful human being who cares for people. I pray to Almighty Allah that He always keeps her well and happy.”
Mousumi shared her thoughts, “If I have to describe the wonderful impact that life with Sani had on me in just a few words, it would not be fair. For this blissful night, I am grateful to Almighty Allah, my parents and Sani. After my father’s death, I can never forget how much Sani helped me and my family and it is incomparable. He has filled all the voids in my life. I ask everyone to pray that we always remain each other’s love forever and live happily.” l
