4 sued over torturing 3 Habiganj

Habiganj: A case was filed against four people in connection with torturing three minor boys over theft charge in Gorur Bazar area in the district town, reports UNB.
Rezia Akther, mother of victim Rubel, filed the case mentioning names of four people, including arrested Shah Alam, and four to five unnamed people.
Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Shah Alam was produced before a court seeking a seven-day remand yesterday. Hearing on the remand plea will be held later.
Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Raj Kumar of Sadar Police Station was closed to the district police lines on charge of negligence of duty.
Shah Alam, son of Abdul Ali, owner of a colony, tied up three boys - Rubel, 10, Rony, 10 and Mahin, 7 in a room of the colony and beat them mercilessly on charge of stealing a mobile phone set on Wednesday morning.
On information, police of Sadar Model Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued the children.
Later, police arrested Shah Alam at night.
