Int’l Day against Drug Abuse observed in districts

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed with great enthusiasm in Natore and Rajbari yesterday. Under the auspices of Natore district administration and Narcotics Control Directorate of Natore circle, the day was observed through discussion meeting and a colorful procession with the slogan of “Let’s Develop Our Lives Our Communities Our Identities Without Drugs”. The procession paraded the main roads of the town chanting slogans against drugs.
Later, a discussion meeting was held at DC’s conference room, with Additional District Magistrate, Natore Khandakar Mohammad Ali in the chair. Deputy Commissioner Md  Mashiur Rahman spoke as chief guest while Administrator Zila parishad, Natore freedom fighter Advocate Md Sajedur Rahman Khan and Police Super  Shaymol Kumer Mukharjee addressed the meeting as special  guests.    
  Deputy Commissioner Md Masiur Rahman and special guests also distributed prizes to the winners of essay competition on anti-drug campaign. Local elites, journalists, teachers, students, NGO representatives and others were present on the occasion. The whole function was conducted by Assistant Commissioner of Natore Collect Earlier, Assistant Commissioner of Natore Collectorate Rumana Tanzid Antara Rumana Tanzid Antara presents a slide on International Day against Drug Abuse.
Meanwhile, the 'International Day against drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking' was observed, as a part of the global programme, in Thakurgaon yesterday in a befitting manner and with several programmes.
Thakurgaon local Narcotics Control Department in collaboration with Thakurgaon district administration chalked out an elaborate programme that included human chain, rally and discussion programme.
Over two hundreds of people in different occupations brought out a colorful rally from Deputy Commissioner’s office premises in the morning. The rally marched main streets in the town and ended at the same place.
Later, a discussion meeting was held at DC’s conference room in this connection with DC of Thakurgaon  Mukesh Chandra Biswas was in the chair.
Our Rajbari correspondent adds: To mark the day a discussion was held at the deputy commissioner’s office premises in Rajbari.
Md Rafiqul Islam Khan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajbari, attended a discussion meeting as chief guest.
 The programme was addressed among others by Additional Police Super Md Tofayel Ahamed, District Education Officer Syed Siddiqur Rahman, Director of Karmajibi Kallyan Sangstha (KKS) of Rajbari Fakir Abdul Jabber, JSD President of Rajbari Ahamed Nizam Mantu and Circle Inspector of Narcotic Department of Rajbari Amiruj Zamman.
