Bangladesh Supreme Court yesterday cleared the way for screening an Indian movie ‘Kelor Kirti’ in the country staying the High Court Division order that halted it recently. A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha stayed the HC order that had barred screening of Indian Bangla movie ‘Kelor Kirti’ in Bangladesh theatres. The country’s apex court came up with the order after hearing a petition moved by attorney general seeking a stay on the HC order. On July 19, the High Court barred screening of the Tollywood movie for six months after hearing a petition, which filed by producer Sharif Hossain challenging the legality of importing the film by film importing authority without following film importing and exporting rule frame of commerce ministry. The importer of the movie, Aradhana Enterprise moved the appeals court against the order. After hearing on the plea the apex court yesterday came up with the order.
