Businessman Hasan Khaled, who is the president of the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI), is missing since Saturday morning, police and his family said. The family has filed a general diary (GD) with Dhanmondi police station in this regard, officer in-charge Nur-e-Azam yesterday said, adding: “We are trying to trace him”. Quoting his family, police said Khaled went out of his House No. 45, Road-4/A, Dhanmondi in the capital at 9:30am to buy some medicine. As he did not return immediately, the family members thought that he might have gone to his office in Bangla Motor area, they said. After failing to reach him over his mobile phone that remained switched off and as he did not return home Saturday night, the family members became worried and filed the GD yesterday morning. Khaled’s brother-in-law Shariful Alam told journalists that when they came to know that Khaled didn’t go to his office on Saturday, they started searching him, but “all efforts went in vain”. “Khaled is involved in apparel business, and we never heard of his enmity with anyone. Also, we did not heard that anyone is demanding extortion from him,” Alam said. The Managing Director of Chemico Bangladesh Ltd., Khaled has been involved with export-import and plastic goods trade for the past 25 years, his family said.
