SATKHIRA: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods worth over Taka 56 crore from different frontier areas of Satkhira district during the last six months of the current year, reports BSS. Lt. Col. Arman Hossain, commander of 38 BGB, said the members of the BGB, in different drives conducted in frontier areas of the district, seized smuggled goods including 3975 bottles of phensidyl, 853 bottles of foreign wine, 3 kilograms of cannabis, sari, three pieces, shirt pieces, bicycle parts, cosmetics and different types of medicines worth Taka 56,00,56,440.
The BGB also arrested 40 smugglers during the six-month drives. The BGB also strengthened its vigilance along the Satkhira border against the smugglers and children and women traffickers and illegal drug traders, the BGB sources added.
