Health tips for monsoon

Monsoon brings back with itself the time to romance and be adventurous. The cloudy sky, the downpour and lush greenery all around makes the season a beautiful time to enjoy and get relief from the harsh and sweaty summers. But despite the goodness of monsoon, there are certain negativity also accompanying this season. Many people get sick during the monsoon as the damp and filthy conditions give the insects and pathogenic micro-organisms a good scope to multiply and spread diseases like dengue, malaria, typhoid, conjunctivitis, viral fever, common cold and flu, pneumonia and gastro-intestinal disturbances like diarrhea and dysentery. As a student or a working citizen, there is no escape from moving in the rain or dumpy filth, but then you must protect yourself from getting sick.
Once the downpour starts, the initial reaction is to run to a shaded area and wait until the shower subsides. You may be safe from getting totally drenched but the risk of falling sick is still high. If your immune system is weak, you may instantly catch a cold after being exposed to the cool breeze that often accompanies rain showers. You should follow certain countermeasures to keep yourself healthy during the rainy season.
