During the festive time of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Television (BTV) aired about 67 programmes and from there 40 programmes was immensely appreciated by the viewers and created positive vibes in the media. Under the supervision of BTV’s director general Harun R Rashid, the quality of the programming of the channel has seen noticeable improvements, according to people from BTV and even outside BTV. This would not have been so without the hard work, continuous effort and dedicated support provided by the people who work behind-the-scenes. That is why, to express appreciation for their efforts, BTV organised a first-of-its-kind award ceremony on July 14 at their premises to honour these people for their contributions towards the channels success. Usually, such ceremonies are held to honour the artistes. However, this time, the behind-the scene people received that honour. The award ceremony was attended by Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu as chief guest while Information Secretary Murtaza Ahmed attended as special guest. BTV’s director general Harun R Rashid organised the award ceremony.
Shahriar Mohammad Hasan, Mahbuba Ferdous, Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Mahfuza Akhtar, Fazle Azim Jewel, Manirul Hasan, Sarwar Mia, Nur Anwar Hossain Ranju were honoured with best producer award. For art direction, three individuals were awarded, Shamsul Huq was awarded for lighting, two were awarded for sound recording, three for editing, Pantha Reza and four other cameramen and six advertisement firms were honoured. Hasanul Haque Inu handed over the award to those honoured and also handed a special award to BTV’s director general Harun R Rashid for presenting the viewers with great quality programming during this Eid.
Hasanul Haque Inu said, “I made the effort to watch most of the programmes which were aired by BTV this Eid and I must say that they were fantastic. I hope that quality programming is maintained in the future as well. I express my respect and appreciation for those behind-the-scene people who gave the effort to make all this happen.”
BTV’s director general Harun R Rashid said, “This Eid, with the hard work and dedication of its people, BTV has managed to delight the audience with some great programming. I hope that in the future, the same effort and dedication is there so that we can keep on presenting our viewers with great programmes.” l
