‘Brigand ringleader’ found dead

The ringleader of a suspected brigand gang was found dead in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar yesterday, UNB reports. Police recovered the bullet-hit body of M Yunus alias Inu, 45, the kingpin of notorious ‘Inu Bahini’ and son of late Mohammad Hossain of Paglirbil village in Chakoria upazila of the district, from Hajir Para of the upazila in the morning. Inu’s wife claimed that he was the religious affairs secretary of Dulahazra union unit of Awami League. Officer-in-charge of Chakoria Police Station Jahirul Islam Khan said they had information that a group of plainclothes persons picked up Inu from a tea stall at his village around 7 pm on Thursday. Following the information, the OC sent a police team to rescue Inu. However, the police team did not find the robber. Meanwhile, another team of police from Ramu Police Station found Inu’s body in the Hajir Para on Friday morning, said OC Provash Chandra Dhar of the police station. Police also recovered a homemade gun.
