PIROJPUR: More than Taka 5.38 crore was realized as land development tax during the 2015-16 fiscal year in Pirojpur district, the Deputy Commissioner’s office sources said, reports BSS.
The Taka 5,38,12,563, the highest ever development tax, was realized from the land owners of 7 upazilas and four municipalities of the district during the just concluded 2015-16 fiscal year, the sources added.
Mohammad Rasheduzzaman, RDC and executive magistrate of Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner’s office, said the realization of highest ever land development tax amount in the district was possible due to some pragmatic steps had been taken by deputy commissioner Mohammad Khairul Alam Sheikh.
The Deputy Commissioner’soffice had stepped up various efforts to motivate land development tax related officials and employees of different upazilas and municipalities of the district to realize tax properly to save the land of the owners.
Mathbaria upazila of the district has realized Taka 1,50,64,709, the highest amount among the upazila and municipality, as land development tax, the sources said.
