Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque yesterday sought cooperation from Italy in developing the country’s fisheries and livestock sector, reports UNB.
He came up with the call when newly appointed Bangladeshi Ambassador to Italy Abdus Sobahan Shikder met him at his Secretariat office, said a handout.
The minister said Italy can play an impartment role and help Bangladesh export meat products and fish.
Recalling Bangladesh’s long relations with Italy, Sayedul conveyed sympathy to Italy over the killing of foreign citizens in the recent Gulshan terror attack.
Sobahan Shikder assured the minister that he will try his best during his assignment to keep up the country’s interest. Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Maksudul Hasan Khan was present on the occasion.
