Dinajpur: Police in separate drives arrested six leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir along with 21 crude bombs from several places of the district on Monday night and yesterday morning, reports UNB.
Five of the arrested Shibir men were identified as Amanullah Sarkar and Hamidur Rahman, presidents of the district unit and Birganj upazila unit of Shibir respectively, Shibir activists Tarik Abedin, Biplob and Al-Amin Hossain.
OC of Kotwali Police Station Redwanur Rahim said being tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive at a house at Lebu Intersection in the district town in the morning and arrested the five Shibir members including Amanullah.
Police also recovered 21 crude bombs and different books from the house. Earlier, police arrested a Shibir man and 43 other people, accused in several cases, from different places on Monday night.
