Rome, Tokyo to coordinate intel activities

Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida had a telephone conversation yesterday to coordinate the two governments’ diplomatic and intelligence activities in the aftermath of the ‘dramatic’ terrorist attack in Dhaka, according to a news release posted on the website of the Italian Foreign Ministry. A total of 28 people including nine Italians and seven Japanese citizens were killed in the attack at a Gulshan restaurant on Friday. The two Ministers stressed the importance of a common commitment among the G7 Countries –which Japan chairs this year and Italy next year – starting with the sharing of information, said the release.
