‘Killing innocent people means defaming religion’

Condemning the Dhaka restaurant attack, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, also the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee’s chairperson, yesterday said killing innocent people is nothing but defaming of religion and humanity, reports UNB. In a condolence message, she expressed her deep shock at the death of local and foreign citizens in the attack on Holey Artisan Bakery in the capital. Dr Shirin said, “Making innocent people hostages and killing them are punishable offence. Such killing is defamation of the religion and humanity.” The CPA chairperson called for finding out those involved in the cowardice attack and ensuring their exemplary punishment.
