Jumatul Wida observed

Muslims across the country yesterday observed Jumatul Wida, the last Friday of Ramadan, with due religious zeal and reverence, reports UNB. A large number of fasting devotees attended the Jum’a prayers at mosques across the country with special munajats seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and the unity of the Muslim Ummah. Jumatul Wida has a special importance as it is a prelude to the departure of holy month of Ramazan and considered the harbinger of the end of the showering of divine blessings that characterise the holy month. The biggest congregation was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital. Special arrangements were made to accommodate the extraordinary surge of the faithful in all mosques in various parts of the city. The congestions spilled over onto the streets at places as mosques lacked sufficient space for the increasing number of devotees. During the Jum’a prayers, imams and khateebs delivered sermons on the importance of Ramadan, Eitekaf, Eid-ul-Fitr and other religious issues, and exhorted the faithful to submit themselves to the will of Almighty Allah.
