The government has been distributing 3,496 tonnes of VGF rice among 1,74,666 cardholders from last Tuesday (June 28) in nine upazilas and two pourashavas of the district on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, reportes BSS. The administration already completed distribution of 5,500 tonnes of VGF rice among nearly 37,000 distressed families during the month of Ramadan and distribution of the other allocations will be completed before Eid. Khulna District Relief and Disaster Management Officials said, a total of 699 tonnes of rice is distributing among 34,985 cardholders of Dakop upazila, 635 tonnes among 31,758 cardholders of Batiaghata upazila, 367 tonnes among 18,399 cardholders of Dighalia upazila, 560 tonnes among 28,021 cardholders of Rupsha upazila, 98 tonnes among 4,941 cardholders of Fultala upazila, 216 tonnes among 10,822 cardholders of Koyra upazila, 273 tonnes among 13,690 cardholders of Paikgachha upazila, 159 tonnes among 7,959 cardholders of Terokhada upazila and 327 tonnes among 16,395 cardholders of Dumuria upazila.
