BCB plans away tour for Bangladesh-A

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and cricket operation committee chairman Akram Khan said that they have plans to arrange tour for High Performance or Bangladesh A-team prior to the upcoming home series against England.
“We have plans to arrange tour for High Performance (HP) unit or Bangladesh A-team. We are now trying to arrange this. If we don’t manage this, in that case, we have an alternative to organise Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) or National Cricket League (NCL),” said Akram Khan, who returned home from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah.
“Ahead of the forthcoming bi-lateral series with England, we will try to at least give some matches of the BCL or NCL as part of home team’s preparation,” Khan told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yesterday.
It is learnt that Sri Lanka A-team is expected to tour to Bangladesh on September to play a string of different format games.
In this regard, BCB operation committee chairman said that their discussion is going on holding a series with Sri Lanakan side.
“Sri Lanka A-team is expected to come in Bangladesh. But the tour is yet to finalise. Our discussion is going on but it remains in final stage,” former skipper said.
About the new bowling coach for the national team, Akram said, “After coming from abroad, I have not talk with CEO. I can tell you who is going to be our bowling coach after talking with CEO. But I can assure you that who is coming yet to confirm.”
The post of the bowling coach remained vacant since Zimbabwean fast bowler Heath Streak is reluctant to continue his job in Bangladesh.
