Global technology giant Microsoft would forecast about any probable threat for Bangladesh to keep its cyber space secure. To this effect, the government and Microsoft signed an agreement yesterday. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood and Microsoft Bangladesh Managing Director Sonia Bashir Kabir signed the deal on behgalf of the respective parties at the conference room of the Posts and Telecommunications Division.
State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim was present at the signing ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Microsoft tied up with us to provide prediction on probable cyber attacks.”
Initially, they (Microsoft) would provide information about the possible threat to government offices, Tarana said
“Microsoft would inform us (Posts and Telecommunications Division) of any probable cyber threat as per the agreement, and we would work together to defuse the threat," said the state minister.
