RANGPUR: The newly elected chairmen of 34 union parishads took oath yesterday at the conference room of the deputy commissioner in the city, reports BSS.
Organised by the district administration, Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar administered the oath-taking ceremony moderated by Deputy Director (Local Government) for Rangpur Sultana Parveen.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr ATM Mahbubul Karim, Upazila Nirbahi Officers of Gangachara, Mithapukur, Sadar, Pirgachha and Kawnia upazilas and secretaries of the concerned 34 union parishads were present.
Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar congratulated the newly elected 34 union parishad chainmen and described their responsibilities.
Later, the chairmen and entrepreneurs of their respective union digital centres singed agreements for cooperation in providing digitised e-services using information and communication technologies to the common people.
