RAJSHAHI: A mobile court here yesterday fined a medical practitioner and his diagnostic centre Tk 40,000 on charge of cheating with patients in the name of treatment, reports BSS.
Acting on a tip-off, the court led by Executive Magistrate Ruman Dey conducted raid in Medison Diagnostic Centre at Luxmipur crossing area under Rajpara Police Station and found various irregularities and anomalies in the centre.
Subsequently, the court fined Tk 20,000 to the clinic and its physician Dr Kamrul Huda each as they were found guilty of the charges.
Senior Assistant Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Iftekhayer Alam said the court also seized visiting cards, banner and festoons of the doctor and the centre and burnt those in presence of huge public.
It has also asked the centre along with its doctor to remove all the existing irregularities and anomalies within next seven days. Otherwise, legal action will be taken against the doctor and the diagnostic centre.
