Import more jute, pharmaceuticals

Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali yesterday requested Mongolia to import more jute and jute products and pharmaceutical products from Bangladesh at a highly competitive price for greater enhancement of trade. During a meeting with the newly-appointed non-resident Mongolian Ambassador to Bangladesh at his office, the foreign minister also emphasised the need to broaden and deepen the existing friendly relations between the two countries in all areas.
The Minister also asked the Ambassador to work for a closer cooperation in sports and cultural fields. In response, Ambassador Ganbold assured that he would be working to further strengthen bilateral relations during his tenure.  He informed the Foreign Minister that the two countries are already cooperating in matters related to digitisation. The envoy also asked the Foreign Minister to encourage business people from Bangladesh to import wool, cashmere, leather and meat products from Mongolia. He shared his plan to hold Bangladesh film shows and translation of Bangla short stories in Mongolian language. The Ambassador presented his credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban in the capital yesterday.
