Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested three men along with a pistol, 40 rounds of bullets and 70 pieces of yaba tablets at Adarshapara in Kotchandpur upazila early yesterday.
One of the arrestees was identified as Rezaul Islam Pathan, councilor of ward-2 of Kotchandpur municipality.
Major Moniruzzaman of Rab-6 in Jhenidah said acting on secrete information, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at Adarshapara early in the morning and arrested the trio.
Rab members also recovered 40 rounds of bullets, one pistol and 70 pieces of yaba tablets during the drive, he added.
